1st Merewether Scout Group has been in existence for over 100 years and is one of the oldest scout groups in the Newcastle area. We have Scouts and Leaders in every section of the Scouting family except Joeys at the moment, but are keen to start Joeys once we get enough leaders and adult helpers.

Joeys (age 5 to 8 yrs) - Monday nights 5:30pm - 6:30pm (Pending leaders/adult helpers) , Smith St Scout Hall. Cubs (age 8 to 11 yrs) - Monday nights 6pm - 7:30pm, Smith St Scout Hall. Scouts (age 11 to 14 yrs) - Wednesday nights 6:30pm - 8:30pm Smith St Scout Hall or Allworth St Scout Hall. Venturers (age 14 to 18 yrs) - Monday nights 7pm - 9pm, Smith St Scout Hall. Rovers (age 18 to 26 yrs) - Thursday nights 7pm - 9pm, Smith St Scout Hall (visit  newcastle.rovers.scoutsnsw.com.au for details).

You'll find more information on our group on the About page and more general information about Scouting in NSW in the Welcome Pack. Programmes will be published on the Events page as they become available. Please contact us before visiting, as plans can change with the weather and we try to get out of the hall as much as possible.

1st Merewether is part of the Scouting District of Newcastle in the Hunter and Coastal Scouting Region. The full calendar of Region activities can be found at https://scoutreach.org.au/resources/activity-courses/. Feel free to call or e-mail to talk with a leader.
